Description
Meeting point in Piazza Duomo at 5pm where the guide will introduce the story of Catania, the Elephant, and the magnificent baroque Cathedral. The following stop will be in Piazza Università where you will hear about the legends and the foundation of the University of Catania, the most ancient of Sicily. The walk goes along the Via Etnea, Main Street of Catania with the palaces, the shopping area, the heart of Catania. A stop at the Roman Amphitheater and discover the ancient little district of San Berillo with a very special history to be discovered. After a nice walk in the little streets of San Berillo a stop in front of the Opera House Teatro Massimo and than a private visit to the unique bizantine chapel Bonajuto, a private monument that will be opened just for us. After having heard about the story of this Chapel, we will be received in a private apartment in the same palace where you will enjoy a typical Sicilian aperitive with local wine and delicacies on a amazing terrace with a view that goes from Mt Etna to the extreme point of the golf of Siracusa.
Important to know that in the palace there is no lift and there are many steps to the terrace
