Catania delicious stroll is a walking tour to discover our culinary traditions and street food. Catania offers unique flavors, smells and colors, but to savor them you have to experience the city with a licenced local guide. Catania’s diner, the so-called tavola calda, is a real institution. To be found in the bars and takeaways of the city, it is a cross between snacks and street food, a snack that is almost a meal, always ready, from breakfast to dinner. The king of the table is the arancino, which is here declined in the masculine; but there are many other specialties such as cipollina, a precious casket of puff pastry stuffed with tomato sauce, mozzarella and plenty of dried onion; and the siciliana, a fried calzone with tuma and salted anchovies. And what about panini with grilled meat or scacciate (a sort of pizza) with vegetables? Or crispelle with ricotta cheese and anchovies or with honey?

Along the way, you will stop at a historic kiosk where you can taste one of the famous traditional thirstquenching drinks such as mandarin and lemon juce or seltz lemon and salt.

A cannolo or a cassatella will end our experience on a sweet note. Between one break and the other, you will discover interesting facts and curiosities about Sicilian cuisine and our culinary habits.
