The Roman Theater, hidden in the hearth of the Baroque city but in excellent conditions, the thermal baths Achilliane under the Cathedral and the thermal baths dell’Indirizzo. Last but not least, the Amphitheater built in the imperial age, one of the greatest of the Roman world, famous as the black Colosseum because of the lava rock used to build it.

We reserved the underground Catania walking tour in September 2022. Our guide was Mateo. It was an amazing experience for us. Mateo was a very knowledgeable guide who gave us a lot of interesting facts about history of Catania, and its relationship with Etna. He was very friendly and enthusiastic about his city and the local culture. Our tour was supposed to be 2 hours but lasted longer due to our discussion and some extra things we ended up doing. I highly recommend the Guiding Sicily tour. Mateo and his passion for the city gave us a different perspective on Catania and its people.
